Aloha, y'all!

Our family just relocated from Clarksville, TN to San Antonio, TX . After more than a decade spent in marketing and public relations, last year I took an extended maternity leave in Tennessee to be a stay-at-home mom, have a healthy pregnancy, begin my blog and PR consulting business.

I moved back to the Mainland from Hawaii 3.5 years ago to join my new hubby at the time, where I had earned my M.A. in Communication at Hawaii Pacific University, spent two years on the Big Island and six on Oahu in various PR positions in the tourism and hospitality industry. As a Butler University journalism graduate, I'm originally from Indiana, but have always been a beach babe at heart.

With 12 half marathons and five fulls under my belt, I'm a running addict. I especially love destination racing and enjoy experiencing new places through the senses of a runner - the sights, smells and tastes (of brunch!) at local eateries afterward. And let's not forget shopping.

I primarily started this project to provide a travel guide for the modern mama who enjoys a healthy lifestyle, family-friendly destinations and of course, time for her own passions. As I continued to build the site, it became something more. Travel is important to me and will cover a large portion of the content, but I also realized many mothers struggle to find information about and access to prenatal/postpartum fitness, in addition to other miscellaneous challenges that motherhood poses.

Through Fit Traveling Mama, I'm excited to share my journey with you in hopes that the content is helpful, relatable and ignites new perspectives on the reality of being a mom - whether it's about balancing work and family life, the road to recovery after birth or, heck, the BIG purchase decision for vehicle third-row seating! (For the record, I will never be ready to take the plunge for a minivan.) I look forward to hearing from you and welcome any tips or your personal stories.
